Xbox update issues

Description : After downloading today’s update, installing it, and resetting my console, when launching Black Desert the first time, a patch was downloaded and completed. A message advised me to “restart the game”, so I exited to dashboard and quit Black Desert. 
After waiting a minute or so, I launched the game again. The patch downloads again, and I see the message saying “Notice - Failed to download additional data. Please try again later.” This happens EVERY TIME the game is started.

The patch download issue referenced above prevents character/server selection. The game redownloads the patch abd does not advance past the point when the patch was being verified. I have sat at the patch verification screen for well over 10 minutes, and it still has not completed. 
Due to this issue, the game has become completely unplayable.

Just to reiterate on the above, I have the exact same issue; the client shows as updated to the new version but stops at the Patch data verification screen (have waited almost an hour at this same screen, and have tried multiple restarts).

I'm assuming last resort will be to re-download the entire client again but am a bit reluctant to do this...

 

Playing on EU side, didn't have any issues for either of the two initial beta tests.

 

Edit: I ended up doing a clean install and have been able to log in...

You guys try unplugging xbox from the wall for couple min? I couldn't get in to the game initially ... intil i did that. Just a thought

same thing happened to mine.... trying a fresh install. not happy i come home from a day of work and cant play a game i would like to relax.

Please follow the steps below in order to resolve the issue.

- Press Xbox button
- Go down and you will see manage game and apps
- Go to my games and apps
- Press see all
- Find Black Desert
- Press the menu button (One with the 3 lines)
- Manage game and add-ons
- Go to saved data and delete
- Restart the game

Same issue... I've tried restarting my xbox, unplugging it and nothing seems to work.

Follow the incredible creeps advice. Clear all downloaded data and it will work.

This does not work. I am ten minutes away from filing a complaint with xbox for a full refund.

I would recommend logging a ticket with the official website for the Xbox Black Desert here:

They have been pretty great about responding to every bug and question that I have submitted in a very timely manner. Perhaps, they can give you better advice without you having to get a refund. It would be great for you to stick with this game. I’m really enjoying it.

My issue is that when i press 'A' it begins a download from a server and fails with the affore mentioned message. 

I have filed a ticket 03.22.2019 [Connection Error]"Failed to download additional data" 

I have received ZERO follow up on that ticket in 24 hours. This forum and twitter have given responses all saying CS will have to help you but they are not. I really do like the game and I will give it an additional 24 hours before I get my refund for the pre-order game and the three chests of pearls I have already purchased.

Same problem I was playing great until this recent update then boom connection failed and on top of that I get [BEC_003/800C000B] after that ice tried the above fixes and it's not working which sucks because I love the game and in lvl 54 Haha I need my bdo........

It is now the middle of May and I'm still having the same issue. You would think it would be fixed by now?

I have this issue every update. It's annoying but since it seemed to only affect a minority of players, I never threw a fit. My issue is the same as OP and I would solve the issue by, disconnecting my ethernet cable, connecting to my mobile hotspot, clearing my cache data, soft resetting (restart console button from menus), followed by a hard reset (unplug console for at least 5 minutes; precisely in this order, EVERY SINGLE UPDATE. If I deviated from this weird and specific order of operations, my Xbox one X would not patch BDO and a "failed to download patch data error would occur.

Fixed it myself atm ingame.

1. Delete reserved game space (manage addons and games > reserved space delete)

2 Hold power button 10 seconds clear cache

3. Restart xbox it will start update the says: failed or stuck on validating if this happens, keep doing Step 1 (only step one remove reserved space) until it says download complete restart game.

 

Worked for me hope for you to.

won't load...  stuck in patch data being verified...  tried soft restart, hard restart, cleared save data, and uninstall then reinstall and still getting the same thing.  Does anyone have a solution?  Thanks in advance.  Running on XOX

Tried sending ticket but can't because I can't link my account unless in game...  I'm at a loss

My solution was to not use a wireless connection to my Xbox. LAN was how I fixed the issue. Not sure why it fixed the problem but I am able to play now. You can submit a ticket using the first box without having to link an account.

Switching to a wired connection also worked for me

Glad it helped someone else. I have no idea why it worked other than WiFi might not be stable enough to download the extra data.

Nope. in the end all I had to do was connect to LAN instead of WiFi and it worked just fine. Already have my main toon to lvl 45 in 3 days.

To fix this bug you have to uninstall the game, turn off xbox, turn on xbox, reinstall game

Im now having this issue too. Gone through every step ive seen here. Still stuck and cant log in. :(
